Careers Expo shows how it’s done

Kiama Council

KMC Careers Expo session

Thanks to all the students from Kiama High School who came to our Careers at KMC session this week.

The session was a great chance for the students to get a better idea of the wide range of work done by Council staff.

It was also an opportunity for our hard-working staff to explain what they do at Council and what it is about their job that makes them get up every morning and head into work.

To ‘mix it up’ the students were presented with a range of scenarios faced by our colleagues every day, from food safety inspections, identifying biohazards and avoiding garbage bin disasters to planning community festivals and housing subdivisions.

Thanks to our Community Hubs, Environment, Events, Communications, Waste Services and Planning teams for taking time out of their day to connect with the next generation of our workforce and share their passion for what they do for Council and our community.
