The next generation of employees have a chance to see what is on offer around the Coalfields for their future careers at the Moranbah State High School Education and Career Pathways Expo today, Thursday, 5 August.
School students will seize an insight into their next chapter from local employees, with multiple industries such as mining, local government, childcare, education, defence, police and more on display at the expo.
Isaac Regional Council Mayor Anne Baker said there are many reasons for students to stay and embark on an exciting career in the region.
“Our region has access to world-class export infrastructure with more than 58,862 square kilometres, from prime agricultural land to the mineral rich basins and a coastal strip that brings tourism opportunities,” Mayor Baker said.
“Isaac’s family-friendly communities offer a safe and relaxed lifestyle, and include the modern mining towns of Moranbah, Middlemount and Dysart, to the historic communities of Nebo, Clermont and St Lawrence and small picturesque coastal villages and rural localities.”
Mayor Baker said the low unemployment rate and high average income were just some of the reasons to enjoy an Isaac career.

The expo, proudly sponsored by Isaac Regional Council, will be held at Moranbah State High School, Mills Avenue from 10am to 2pm on Thursday, 5 August.
Isaac Regional Council will have information on the 2022 intake of trainees and apprentices. These introductory roles combine hands-on work skills with a nationally recognised qualification.
