CCTV images released after luxury goods worth $460,000 stolen in Sydney City

Police have released CCTV images of a man who may be able to assist with investigations after almost 100 luxury items – worth more than $460,000 – were stolen from a store in Sydney on New Year’s Day.

About 3.30am last Saturday (1 January 2022), a man forced entry to a luxury goods store on George Street and left a short time later, taking a handbag.

The man re-entered the store with two wheely bins and left shortly after, taking more handbags and clothing in the bins.

The estimated value of the items stolen – which amount to almost 100 items – is more than $460,000.

Officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command were notified of the incident and commenced investigations.

As inquiries continue, police have released images of a man who may be able to assist with their investigations.

The man is depicted in the images as being of Caucasian appearance, of medium build, and is seen wearing a white t-shirt, black shorts, a navy and white ‘Fendi’ baseball cap, black backpack, and white ‘Asic’ shoes with white ankle-length socks.
