CCTV images released over sexual touching of teenager on train, NSW

Police have released CCTV images as they continue to investigate a sexual touching incident on a train in Sydney’s west last month.

Just before 9pm on Wednesday 8 January 2020, a 17-year-old girl was sitting on a train leaving Lidcombe Railway Station, when she was approached by a man.

The man sat next to the girl and began to inappropriately touch her.

As the teenager stood up to move to another carriage, the man indecently assaulted her.

A short time later, as the train was leaving Guildford Railway Station, the man then entered the next carriage and sat next to the girl again.

He continued to touch her inappropriately and indecently assaulted her again.

The teenager left the train at Cabramatta Railway Station and reported the incident to local police.

Officers from Police Transport Command were then notified and commenced an investigation.

As part of their investigation, officers have released images of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He has been described as being of Asian appearance, between 170-180cm tall, of a thin build, a birthmark on his lower right arm, and with short black hair.

He was last seen wearing a grey T-shirt, khaki camouflage print shorts, and black glasses.
