CCTV released after Hallam shooting

Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad have today released CCTV of a vehicle they are searching for following a non-fatal shooting in Hallam last month.

Police have been told a group of men attended a home on Nettle Drive shortly after 6.10pm on Sunday, 6 October and demanded entry to the premises.

An altercation has taken place between the group and a 54-year-old Dandenong man and 34-year-old Hallam woman who were at the property.

During this altercation, the Dandenong man was shot in the stomach causing serious injuries.

The group then left the area and the victim was conveyed to hospital by the Hallam woman.

Investigators believe the incident was targeted, however are still working through possible motives for the shooting.

A significant canvas of CCTV in the area was conducted and investigators have identified a vehicle which they believe may be linked to the shooting.

The car is believed to be a BMW sedan, champagne in colour, and the model is likely to be between 2004 and 2007.

The car also has distinctive Euro-style V numberplates (https://vplates.com.au/browse-styles/euro).

Detectives are today releasing footage of that vehicle in the hope someone can provide information about its owner and current whereabouts.

They are also keen to speak to anyone who has information on the BMW’s movements on the day of the shooting.

Anyone with knowledge of the BMW or further information about the shooting is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppers.com.au.
