CCTV released after McKinnon ram raid

Detectives from the Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit have released CCTV footage following a ram raid at a business in McKinnon on Monday.

Investigators believe three unknown offenders attended a hardware store on McKinnon Road in a black Holden SUV about 5.30am on 3 May.

The offenders attempted to gain entry to the front door by using an angle grinder and jemmy but were unsuccessful.

They then got into their vehicle and used it to smash through the front entrance.

Once inside, the trio stole cash and tools before returning to their vehicle.

Police were quick on scene, but offenders collided with the police vehicle before driving away at speed.

The officers were not injured during the incident.

Investigators have released CCTV footage and images of three men who they believe can assist with their enquiries.

The first man is perceived to be Mediterranean in appearance in his mid 20s, of a medium build with short dark hair and was wearing multi-coloured bandana as a facemask, black Carhartt jumper, red gloves, dark pants and runners.

The second man is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance with a thin build and was wearing black baseball cap, black and white Fila jumper, grey shorts and runners.

The third man is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance in his late 20s, with a large build, short brown hair and was wearing black face mask, grey Lacoste T-shirt, white gloves, black shorts and runners.
