Centenary of Workers Memorial: Port Adelaide Enfield

This year is the 100 year anniversary of the Workers Memorial on the corner of St Vincent Street and Commercial Road in Port Adelaide. On 1 May 2021 the location of the May Day march on International Day of the Worker has been moved to Port Adelaide to celebrate this centenary. There will be a march from the Maritime Museum Port Adelaide to the Waterside Workers Hall, followed by a street party. This family friendly day will have food trucks, drinks and live music throughout the day.

12:30pm – Meet Maritime Museum 126 Lipson St, Port Adelaide

1.00pm – Begin March

1.20pm – Arrive Waterside Workers Hall, Port Adelaide for the Nile Street Party

5.00pm – Event concludes

May Day in the Port is presented by the History Trust of Port Adelaide, in association with the May Day Committee, SA Unions, and Workers’ Memorial Trustees, and is proudly supported by the City of Port Adelaide Enfield through our event grants program.

This event will require strict adherence with COVID regulations. Physical distancing of 1.5m and contract tracing via QR code will apply. Masks are encouraged.
