Central Goldfields Shire has been chosen to feature in the popular Nine Network Australia TV show, Country House Hunters.

The program features our very own Central Goldfields Art Gallery, along with many other well-known people and places in and around Maryborough.

Central Goldfields Shire Mayor Cr Liesbeth Long said this type of national exposure is enormously valuable for our region.

“It’s terrific that Maryborough has been selected for profiling by this program, showing off our attractions and investment opportunities to the whole of Australia.

“It’s about encouraging the broader community to look more closely at what we have on offer, which is important for our continued growth and development.”

Manager Tourism, Events and Culture, Rosalie Hastwell said there is much for the community to be proud of across the Shire.

“When people come to the Central Goldfields as visitors or seeking a place to live, they are often amazed at what they find.

“Two of our key attractions – the beautiful Central Goldfields Art Gallery and the amazing Railway Station – appear in the episode along with other aspects of the town.

“It’s exciting to see how these recently revitalised attractions are leading a major uplift in visitation as well as gaining overwhelmingly positive responses from residents. The Country House Hunters episode is a powerful way of sharing with an audience of many thousands some of the great strengths of Maryborough and the Shire as a place to live.”

Hosted by Catriona Rowntree, the heartwarming series guides ten captivating couples on their exhilarating quest to find the perfect country home.

Country House Hunters in Central Goldfields will air at 5.30pm this Saturday 3 February on Channels 9, 9-HD and 9NOW.
