Chaos continues to surround the West Gate Tunnel project which is already at least three years overdue and nearly five billion dollars over budget.
There are new revelations today that dozens of homeowners affected by the project have been secretly paid around $100,000 each in compensation.
Shadow Minister for Transport Infrastructure, David Southwick, said: “This project has been mired in chaos from day one and the cost continues to grow and grow.
“The Allan Government must tell Victorians by how much the compensation will add to the cost of the project which is already nearly five billion dollars over budget.
“Property owners impacted by major projects are rightly paid compensation but Labor must be upfront with Victorians, rather than doing secret deals to cover up their own mismanagement.”
