Charges for disqualified driver over drink-driving, NSW

A disqualified driver has been charged after allegedly drink-driving and crashing into a railing in Sydney’s south-west overnight.

About 7.40pm (Wednesday 9 November 2022), police were called to Burrogorang Road, The Oaks, following reports a Ford Falcon utility was allegedly speeding and driving on the wrong side of the road.

On arrival, officers from Camden Police Area Command located the utility crashed into a metal guard rail and were notified the driver had run into nearby bushland.

With assistance from PolAir and the Dog Unit, officers commenced an extensive search of the bushland.

About 9.30pm, a 47-year-old man was located and arrested.

He was taken to Narellan Police Station, where he was charged with drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, driving while disqualified, and drive vehicle under influence of alcohol.

The Austral man was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear before Picton Local Court on Wednesday 30 November 2022.
