Charges laid after motorcycle rider critically injured in crash – Greystanes

A man has been charged following a two-vehicle crash in Sydney’s west.

About 10.30pm yesterday (Thursday 26 October 2023), emergency services responded to reports of a crash between a car and a motorcycle on the Cumberland Highway, Greystanes.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 44-year-old male motorcyclist at the scene before he was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

The 28-year-old male driver of the vehicle was not injured. He was taken to the same hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command established a crime scene that was examined by specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit.

Following inquiries, the 28-year-old man was taken to Granville Police Station, where he was charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and not stop at stop line at red light.

The man was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday 19 December 2023.

His licence was also suspended.
