I have very much enjoyed being part of the Carisbrook Community Conversations and look forward to the next one which hopefully we may be able to have in person and not through Zoom.

Cr Anna De Villiers is a passionate and hard working Ward Councillor and it was good to develop the community conversations model working with her and Kylie our Community Engagement Manager, who does a brilliant job looking at so many different ways of engaging with the communities across our Shire.

What was the most impactful aspect of the Community Conversations for me was the high level of commitment by members of the Community to make a difference and real energy from both long term and newer residents

It was also also good for Council to endorse priorities from the eight township Community Plans and for Carisbrook to identify two important topics covered in the Conversations – Carisbrook Town Hall which possibly may include a community garden and the Deep Creek Management Plan.

Council has been able to commence critical restoration work at the Town Hall commencing with the roof and we will develop a plan working with key community stakeholders for future work which we know is needed.

The Conversations have suggested a way forward with both these important projects and importantly residents keen to be engaged taking those forward.

Carisbrook is such an exciting place with so much happening. It’s really good to support the Community on projects which are so important to residents.
