Christmas in Hume

Reimagined for all to enjoy!

Christmas in Hume will look a little different than we’re used to this year.

Hume Carols by Candlelight

Although we’ve had to make some changes to keep everyone safe, we’re excited to confirm Hume Carols by Candlelight will go ahead as a livestreamed event for you to enjoy with your family and friends at home.

While we understand Carols is a special event for our community, having a healthy and COVID-free Christmas remains our top priority.

Although we can’t meet in person, we can still enjoy Hume Carols Live together from home by tuning into YouTube on Saturday 5 December from 6.30pm.

Save the date to enjoy a visit from Santa, carols from some of our favourite singers – as well as a few new faces – and plenty of prizes and giveaways.

Hume Carols Live is proudly sponsored by Sunbury Square Shopping Centre.

Make Hume Shine for your chance to win a great prize

We’re calling on all Hume residents to help us Make Hume Shine this Christmas. Share your Christmas lighting or display with us for a chance to win.

Check back here or on Council’s Facebook page on Tuesday for all the details on how to enter and get involved.

Make Hume Shine is proudly sponsored by Highlands Shopping Centre, Great Race and Telstra Store Broadmeadows.

Pop-up Christmas Gardens and Decorations

In an exciting year of firsts, pop-up Christmas gardens, music and food trucks will bring wonder, colour and cheer to Broadmeadows, Craigieburn and Sunbury from 23 November – 31 December.

Council will also install a range of Christmas decorations across the city including coloured lights at Town Hall Broadmeadows and the Sunbury fountain.

A full advent calendar of events will be released on Sunday 15 December at
