City of Ballarat a finalist in 2019 Parking Industry Awards

The City of Ballarat has been recognised as a finalist in the category of Outstanding Marketing and Communications at the 2019 Parking Industry Awards.

The Parking Industry Awards celebrates the achievements of individuals, teams and organisations for excellence, outstanding facilities and innovation throughout the parking industry, with the City of Ballarat nominated for its Smarter Parking Plan.

The Awards aim to highlight the industry’s commitment to raising the standards of the parking industry, through showcasing best practice and rewarding exceptional contributions.

Parking Australian President Sharon Prior said: “The calibre of entries demonstrates the leadership and commitment of the industry to innovate and provide the best possible parking experience for their customers.”

Entries to the 2019 Parking Industry Awards were judged by a panel of seven national and international industry professionals, who have selected 30 finalists across 7 categories.

City of Ballarat CEO Justine Linley said it was a fantastic honour to be nominated in the Outstanding Marketing and Communications category.

“Our Smarter Parking Plan set a new benchmark in how Councils can communicate and engage with their community,” Ms Linley said.

“It set a very high standard for how we can best talk to our community about major initiatives we are undertaking in a way that is clearly understood and reaches as many of our residents as possible.”

The award winners will be announced at a Parking Industry Awards Dinner to be held at Metropolis Events on Melbourne’s Southbank on Thursday 28 November.

The evening will be hosted by comedian, actor, television and radio presenter Anthony ‘Lehmo’ Lehmann.

Parking Australia operate the prestigious Parking Industry Awards program which distinguishes outstanding achievement and excellence in the Australian parking industry, recognising leading examples of new car park development and refurbishment, excellence in innovation and technology, outstanding marketing and communications, and exceptional use of on street and public space, as well as young achievers and the parking organisation of the year.
