There’s no denying it – spring has well and truly sprung. The weather is warming, and the flowers are blossoming for what is set to be another magnificent spring in the city for the school holiday season.
From wildflower festivals, children’s entertainment and colourful installations, the city is in full bloom
From 27 September, the Perth Cultural Centre will come alive with activities, exhibitions and performances for the annual 2021 AWESOME Festival, sponsored by the City of Perth.
“At the AWESOME Festival, families can meet local authors, experience world class ballet, create their own artworks and enjoy being out and about in our beautiful city,” City of Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said.
“It’s through sponsoring, facilitating and supporting events such as these that makes Perth a vibrant, iconic destination; a place of possibility where great things happen.”
The City of Perth has launched its Perth Trails app ahead of the school holidays, allowing families to take self-guided tours at their own pace, discover the rich history and interesting landmarks Perth has to offer. Perth Trails will be available for download in the app store and Google Play from tomorrow.
Taking kids and families on a journey through the City of Perth’s neighbourhoods, the app features a number of walking trails that showcase a range of historical buildings, points of interest and family fun – there’s even recommendations on where to stop for treats with the kids.
Visitors can also take advantage of three-hour free parking on weekends in three centrally located CPP car parks:

Each year the AFL Masters Carnival is held in a unique location around Australia. There is a healthy balance of football and carnival events for the whole family. More than 1500 people will attend the AFL Masters National Carnival as up to 35 football teams across Australia compete in age groups ranging from 35 to over 60 years.

WA Ballet’s Peter and the Wolf

Kings Park Festival

WA Opera’s Koolbardi wer Wardong

Koolbardi the Magpie and Wardong the Crow are two very proud, vain, jealous brothers. Set on Noongar Boodja (the south west corner of Western Australia), we invite you to join us for a journey back to the Nyittiny, the time of creation, where love, loyalty, betrayal and jealousy are all stretched to their limits.

10th Light Horse Regiment

Celebrate the re-raising of the iconic 10th Light Horse Regiment – Western Australia’s own cavalry. This activity will include various army vehicles, a team of 10th Light Horse historical society members in period costume on horses and a large contingent of army personnel. This will be followed by a parade from Langley Park up through the city.
