City of Sydney facilities reopen

The City of Sydney’s libraries, gyms and community centres begin to reopen from today as the NSW Government’s Covid-19 restrictions ease, with Neighbourhood Service Centres also reopening their doors and landmark venues available for hire.

Lord Mayor Clover Moore said while the City was prioritising a cautious, safe re-opening, the community would greatly appreciate the return of much-loved facilities and services.

“The past 18 months have been incredibly challenging, isolated from family and friends and missing out on many of the things we love doing,” the Lord Mayor said. “We’re pleased to be opening up treasured community spaces as we cautiously set out on the road to recovery.”

“Restrictions are in place at all of our facilities in line with public health orders to keep everyone safe – including our residents, businesses, staff and visitors – as we navigate our way through this first stage of reopening. We ask for the public’s patience and cooperation as we reopen our doors.

Whether it’s heading back to the gym, getting your hands on your next read, or reconnecting at a local community venue, we are looking forward to welcoming Sydneysiders once again, and to seeing the city spring back to life.”
