The City of Greater Geelong is demonstrating its commitment to stamping out gender-based violence by supporting the 16 Days of Activism, an international campaign beginning on November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
- The sharing of social media messaging around respect, gender equality and gender-based violence,
- The promotion of events and initiatives by other Geelong organisations engaging in the 16 Days of Activism campaign, including a community art exhibition let by the Sexual Assault and Family Violence Centre and a Walk Against Family Violence led by Zonta Club of Geelong on Friday 25 November, and
- Joining local partners to light City landmarks in orange, with the colour orange symbolising a brighter future free of violence.
- Landmarks will include the City’s Catenary Lights, Barwon Health University Hospital, Barwon Water, Geelong Arts Centre, and Kardinia Park.
