Beach 5s Brings Summer Footy Action For Forster

MidCoast Council

Forster Main Beach will become the ultimate meeting place for footy, sunshine and holiday fun when the Barrington Coast Beach 5s Championships return on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November 2026.

Following the success of the inaugural event in 2025, this year’s championship promises an even bigger celebration of five-a-side, attracting teams from across regional and metropolitan New South Wales.

Whether players are chasing victory, enjoying a weekend away or simply looking for an excuse to spend more time at the beach, the event offers something for everyone.

Played on the golden sands of Forster Main Beach, Beach 5s is fast, energetic and easy to enjoy; even for spectators who may not know all the rules. With plenty of action, enthusiastic teams and a relaxed festival atmosphere, it is the perfect way to combine sport with a coastal getaway.

The senior and under-17/18 competitions will be held on Saturday 21 November, featuring Masters, Men’s Premier, Open Men’s, Open Women’s and under-17/18 boys and girls categories. Sunday 22 November will be dedicated to youth and school competitions, including under-12 mixed and under-13 to under-16 boys and girls divisions.

There is also extra incentive for senior teams, with winners receiving free team entry to another Beach 5s event of their choice.

Registration is now open through Rugby Xplorer, with categories available for social men’s, open women’s, youth and school teams.

With beaches, waterways, coastal walks, cafés and accommodation all close by, Forster provides the ideal backdrop for a weekend of sport and summer fun.

The event has been supported through Council’s Grants, Donations and Sponsorship program.
