The City of Perth’s iCity kiosk volunteers are back in full force.
Opening from 10am to 2pm Monday to Saturday and 11am to 2.30pm on Sundays at reduced hours, volunteers at iCity Kiosk are ready to help tourists and the Western Australian public find their way around Perth city.
“We’re excited to have the iCity Kiosk up and running again, marking the complete re-opening of our city. Our volunteers can’t wait to see everyone out and about,” City of Perth Chair Commissioner Andrew Hammond said.
The iCity Kiosk walking tours will also be reinstated, with all tours leaving from the kiosk in Forrest Place.
Knowledgeable guides will take you on a free 90-minute tour on six days of the week. Online pre-bookings are necessary.
Plus, look out for the new Roving Ambassadors wearing red uniforms and stationed throughout the city’s central streets and malls.
Helping people with questions, directions or simply a friendly smile, the ambassadors will be a welcome sight for most.
“As part of our Economic Rebound Strategy, we are re-purposing our iCity volunteers as Roving Ambassadors. In addition to their role at the iCity Kiosk and as walking tour guides, they will be roving the malls to welcome visitors and provide directions,” Mr Hammond said.
Iliana Lopez Contreras, Roving Ambassador and iCity Kiosk volunteer, cannot wait to return back to the city.
“As a Roving City Ambassador, I can give back to the Perth community that has been very good to me since my arrival 26 years ago,” she said.
“This new role will give me the opportunity to continue providing the best bilingual customer service possible, adding a Colombian friendliness and enthusiasm.
“It will be an amazing experience to help the City of Perth visitors again. If any of you see us in our new red uniforms around the city, come and say hello.”
