Richardson was banned by the SACA from Club cricket for the period from 14 to 22 February 2015 (Club Ban).

Given the serious nature of the conduct and the imposition of the Club Ban, a Code of Behaviour Commissioner considered the matter under Article 7.8 of the CA Code of Behaviour and determined that Richardson should also receive a ban from playing in any CA-sanctioned matches while serving the Club Ban.

Richardson was suspended from playing in South Australia’s next Bupa Sheffield Shield match against Western Australia commencing on 16 February.

The penalties were appealed by the Sydney Sixers. Senior Commissioner Gordon Lewis dismissed the appeal and upheld the originally imposed penalties.
