Colour Your Community Red

National Volunteer Week is an annual event by Volunteering Australia, and in 2020, with social distancing preventing the usual Adelaide Parade and BBQ, they are launching the initiative Colour Your Community Red.

Colour Your Community Red will give everyone in the community a chance to thank volunteers and for volunteers to show their pride in being a volunteer. The campaign will highlight the amazing work of volunteers, with the opportunity for a special shout out to those volunteers working in emergency and emergency recovery through the Cudlee Creek Bushfire, and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. These tough times have bonded communities and throughout this campaign our volunteers will be acknowledged, thanked and celebrated for their time, skills and passion.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

If you are a volunteer, part of an organisation that is supported by volunteers, or someone that supports volunteering in general, you are invited to tie something red out the front of your home or business during National Volunteer Week, 18-24 May 2020.

A ribbon, scaf, tea towel or even a t-shirt will do the job; tie it to your fence, a tree, a letterbox – just make it visible to show your support.

Share a photo or video of how you’re joining Colour Your Community Red and tag it in social media using the following hashtags:
