Coming up in Congress: What’s coming your way on day 2?

It’s another big day at the Australian Dental Congress, with programs getting underway for hygienists and therapists, practice managers, dental prosthetists and dental assistants and principal keynote speaker Dr Sascha Jovanovic making his debut at Australia’s leading dental event..

Main scientific program highlights

Dr Sascha Jovanovic, principal keynote speaker, makes his debut today, speaking at 1.45pm (“5 Key points to ensure dental implant aesthetics and health”) and 2.35pm (“Extraction socket preservation and augmentation – immediate, early/delayed, or late”).

Also speaking are keynote speakers Prof Asgeir Sigurdsson, Dr Aldo Leopardi, Prof. Gilles Lavigne, Dr Finlay Sutton and Prof. Tony Pogrel who kicks off the day’s sessions at 8.15am. Worth checking out too are Dr Dr Anikó Ball (“Inner Ergonomics: a practical recipe for practitioner longevity”), Dr Sue-Ching Yeoh (“Drugs in Dentistry- Common Myths and Misconceptions Debunked” and Prof. Anita Nolan (“Caring for a patient with a dry mouth”) among many other fascinating topics.

CPD tracking

Once again, don’t forget that the Loopd token on your lanyard will keep track of the sessions you attend and how long you’re in them for, taking all the worry and stress out keeping track of your CPD activity at Congress.

Interested in dental research?

Make sure you catch the Australian Dental Research Foundation (ADRF) session at 4.50pm in Hall C where Dr Nidhi Medare and Dr Maryam Jessri, both recipients of grants from the Foundation, will speak on their respective topics.

You should also pop by the ADRF stand in the exhibition, which is situated in the big, hard-to-miss ADA stand at the entrance and place bids on the items being auctioned to raise funds to aid research which include an opal necklace, a bottle of Hermitage Grange and a bottle of Verve Cliquot. Got questions? The lovely Jane has all the answers about dental research you could ask for.
