Developments like this are exactly what Tasmania needs as we recover and rebuild from COVID-19.
I am aware that the $55 million development has undergone a number of changes to help address concerns previously raised for compliance with planning regulations and, should the project be approved, it would send a clear message to investors that Hobart welcomes commercial development across a number of areas.
Private hospitals play a vital role in a smaller health system like ours and, while ultimately the decision is a planning one for the Hobart City Council, I trust that Council acknowledges the economic and health benefits that this development will create.
