The Yarra Community Awards honour the everyday heroes who make outstanding contributions to our community.

Raghda’s story

16-year-old Raghda has been a driving force in the establishment of Richmond Youth Hub and developing youth programs.

In April this year, Raghda assisted in the planning and promoting of the launch party for Richmond Youth Hub. Raghda also took on the role of MC for the event impressing the 150 attendees, including representatives from local and state government.

Raghda is passionate about social justice and has become an effective advocate for young people in our community. Raghda is an invaluable liaison between young people, the community and the services co-located at Richmond Youth Hub.

Raghda’s enthusiasm for life, compassion for others and dedication to her community inspires everyone around her!

Congratulations, Raghda – and thank you for your ongoing contributions to our community.

Special mention…

A special mention goes to Korpo Sao.

Korpo is an up-and-coming social justice warrior who uses art to campaign on racism and indigenous rights, including the Black Lives Matter movement.
