Community organisations are being encouraged to apply for funding in the latest round of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF) grants program.
Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Yvette D’Ath said Round 104 of the popular program also marks the launch of updated funding eligibility guidelines, which are designed to streamline the way organisations can apply for funding.
“The gambling Community Benefit Fund has distributed more than $900 million to Queensland not-for-profit groups over the last 25 years and its popularity continues to grow,” Mrs D’Ath said.
“Earlier this month, we announced $14.9 million in funding to be shared between more than 700 Queensland community groups and now there’s more funding available.
“This time around it’s easier than ever to apply, with guidelines available in a new-look online format to ensure a more user-friendly experience for applicants.
“These grants are merit based and funding is allocated by an independent panel.
“They’re accessible to all not-for-profit community groups, whether big or small, so we’re encouraging eligible organisations to get their applications in.”
Mrs D’Ath said the new more user-friendly application process was designed to give not-for-profits the best chance for success in winning a grant.
“If you’re passionate about making a difference, share the story of how your organisation is making a difference in your community.
“Applications are open until 29 February so go online now and submit an application and put your organisation in the running for a share of this funding.”
There are five GCBF funding rounds each year, with grants from $500 to $35,000 on offer.
