Townsville City Council is encouraging the community to have its say on future enhancements of playgrounds and community facilities in Rollingstone and Balgal Beach.
Infrastructure Services Committee chairperson Kurt Rehbein said Council was seeking feedback on what facilities residents enjoyed and would like to see more of at Vincent ‘Bushy’ Parker Park and Pace Park.
“Council’s 2021/2022 budget included $294,000 in funds to enhance community facilities in Rollingstone and Balgal beach, which could potentially include renewing playground infrastructure,” Cr Rehbein said.
“We’d like to know what facilities our community value and what we could improve in the area to ensure we can enhance the experience for locals and visitors alike.
“That may be the need for new playground equipment for children to enjoy in the park, or even additional BBQ and picnic facilities.
“This is about ensuring our community have their say so we can work feedback into any designs or improvements in the near future.”
Council will be seeking community feedback at a community barbecue on Tuesday 23 November from 5.30 – 7pm at the Balgal Beach Campground and through its Have Your Say platform until Friday 26 November 2021.
