Council had the pleasure of awarding community grants to 12 organisations across the Borough. These grants went to organisations that support community, art and cultural projects, and activities that enhance the wellbeing and quality of life of residents living in the Borough of Queenscliffe.
The Mayor spoke of the ways these events bring our communities together. Cr Tolhurst said “It’s a joy for Council to be celebrating the wonderful Community events we have across the Borough.”
Grants were awarded to the following communities:
- Boomerang Bags
- Combined Probus Club of Queenscliffe
- Point Lonsdale Boardriders
- Point Lonsdale Primary School
- Point Lonsdale Surf Lifesaving Club
- Queenscliff Lonsdale Yacht Club
- Queenscliffe and Disctrict Neighbourhood
- Point Lonsdale Basketball Association
- Queenscliffe Indigenous Nursery
- Shedding the Blues
- St Aloysius Primary School in conjuction with PLPS & QPS
- Tides of Welcome Community Choir
The grant program aims to assist local community groups and organisations to increase involvement and provide opportunities for Council and the community to work together.
