Council is set to host a community forum to provide key stakeholders and the wider community with a better understanding of retaining wall requirements across the Shire.

Hosted by Mayor Danny Goss, the forum will outline guidelines and requirements for retaining walls that will impact the streetscape of future residential neighbourhoods in Warragul and Drouin.

Alongside the Mayor will be a panel of subject matter experts who will take part in a Q&A discussion where the community are invited to join in the conversation and ask questions directly to the panel members.

The forum will include a presentation from Council regarding the updated requirements on retaining walls including height guidelines, definitions, and their purpose. Council will also provide a brief overview of the Draft Warragul and Drouin Design Guidelines followed by the retaining wall Q&A with panel members.

The forum will take place between 1:00 and 3:00pm on Friday 12 November at the Fountain Room, West Gippsland Arts Centre. Bookings are essential for the forum and can be made via the Eventbrite page.

The forum is set to complement the current Warragul and Drouin Design Guidelines public consultation opportunity. As part of the consultation, Council is seeking feedback on retaining walls and the impact this may have on future residential land in Drouin and Warragul.
