Concern for person and dog in Traralgon

Traralgon police are seeking assistance from the local community after it was reported a person and dog were seen falling into Traralgon Creek this morning.

Police have been told the person was seen walking a small dog in the vicinity of Whittakers Road when they appeared to roll up their trousers near the bank of the swollen creek about 5.30am.

The witness believes the person and their canine companion were then swept away.

Following a search of the area and after making a number of local enquiries police have been unable to confirm the pair was swept away however are concerned for their welfare.

At this time, police have also not received any reports of people missing in the area.

Police have released CCTV and images of the pair in the hope someone will come forward and help confirm their identity.

We’re also appealing for the person themselves to come forward so we can ensure they are okay.

From the vision it appears the person may be wearing slippers and may have a slight limp.
