Concerns for occupants of crashed car at Homebush, NSW

Police are appealing for information from the public to identify two people involved in a pursuit in Sydney’s Inner West this morning.

Officers attached to Burwood Police Area Command saw a blue Holden Vectra speeding in the southbound lanes on Homebush Bay Drive, Homebush, about 1am (Monday 19 April 2021).

Police activated warning lights but, when the car did not stop, a pursuit was initiated. This was then terminated due to concerns about the manner of driving.

A short time later, the sedan crashed near the entrance to the WestConnex, coming to rest on its roof; by the time police arrived, both the driver and passenger had left the scene.

Officers, with the assistance of Polair and Dog Squad, conducted an extensive search of the area, but could not locate the occupants, one who is believed to be injured.

A crime scene has been established.

Police have been told the car was stolen from a home in Cabramatta West.

Police are now appealing for anyone with information about the identity of the occupants of the vehicle, especially due to concerns about their welfare.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
