Cancer Council WA congratulates Professor Nick Gottardo on being named as a Finalist for the 2026 Western Australian of the Year.

Professor Gottardo is an internationally respected cancer researcher, clinician and leader whose work continues to improve outcomes for children diagnosed with brain cancer in Western Australia and around the world.

In 2022, Cancer Council WA proudly recognised Professor Gottardo as our Cancer Researcher of the Year in acknowledgement of his groundbreaking research and unwavering commitment to advancing childhood cancer treatment and care.

Cancer Council WA has been honoured to contribute to Professor Gottardo’s important work through a Research Fellowship from 2016-2019, as well as Research Project Grants awarded in 2017, 2021 and 2024.

We are thrilled to see Professor Gottardo’s extraordinary contribution recognised at the highest level and congratulate him on this well-deserved honour.
