Congratulations to Hazell Brothers Group

Peter Gutwein,Premier

Last night I had the pleasure of presenting an award to one of Tasmania’s most significant civil construction and transport companies, the Hazell Brothers Group, for being recognised as one of Australia’s Ten Best Managed Companies this year.

The Hazell Brothers Group are worthy recipients of Deloitte Australia’s 2021 Best Managed Companies award, which benchmarks the best private companies across Australia.

Hazell Bros is a well-known business with a strong reputation in the Tasmanian corporate landscape, which has grown strongly and diversified over the years.

The Group now employs around 600 people in a range of business areas including Civil Construction, Quarries, Concrete, Construction Material Testing, Plant Hire, Transport, Asset Servicing, and Industrial Services with operations across Tasmania, Queensland and South Australia.

Importantly, Hazell Bros have successfully delivered major projects across Tasmania including the Cattle Hill Wind Farm, MMG’s Rosebery Tailings Dam, and hundreds of kilometres of water infrastructure through the Midlands Pipeline Irrigation Scheme and the South East Irrigation Scheme.

They have also delivered many important road and bridge projects for the Government, including a number of upgrades as part of the 10-year Midland Highway Action Plan which commenced in 2015.

The Hobart Airport Interchange project is also progressing well under their watch, and we also look forward to the completion of the Sorell Bypass which Hazell Bros are also delivering as part of our South-East Traffic Solution program.

I’d like to offer my sincere congratulations to Hazell Bros on this important recognition as one of Australia’s Ten Best Managed Companies for 2021.
