Connect with Council in Norlane this month

Council is holding its February meeting at Norlane’s brand-new Northern Aquatic and Community Hub.

Join us at 1-9 Cox Road, Norlane on Tuesday 27 February at 6:30pm to receive an update from Windermere ward councillors on local projects and watch a council meeting in action.

Community members can ask a question of the Council and are encouraged to submit their question before midday on Monday 26 February at geelongaustralia.com.au/meetings.

There’s no need to register your attendance.

The community-based meeting is also an opportunity to check out the large multi-purpose community performance hall which has replaced the ageing Centenary Hall.

The $65.6 million health and recreation facility opened to the community on Monday 19 February ahead of our free community open day on Sunday 3 March.

Deputy Mayor Anthony Aitken, Windermere Ward

Council always enjoys meetings outside of City Hall.

This will be our first community meeting in the new Civic Auditorium at the Northern Aquatic and Community Hub, so it is a special occasion and I encourage as many members of the Geelong community to attend and experience this amazing new event space.

Councillor Sarah Hathway and I will present an informative snapshot of projects in Geelong’s northern suburbs before the reports section in the meeting, which I encourage residents to stick around for.

Fellow Windermere Councillor Sarah Hathway

Community-based meetings improve transparency in decision making.

These special meetings give us a better handle on certain local issues by chatting with the people who are affected.

This is just one of the way we are increasing accessibility and transparency of Council’s business.

The meeting will be livestreamed as usual at geelongaustralia.com.au/meetings. The meeting agenda will be uploaded to this page on Friday 23 February.
