Construction booked for Robinvale library

Construction is set to begin this week on the new Robinvale Community Hub Library.

The new library is a joint project of Regional Development Victoria, the Victorian Education

Department, Robinvale College and Swan Hill Rural City Council.

It will be built inside an existing building at the front of the Robinvale College grounds and will be a

permanent community library, replacing weekly mobile library visits to Robinvale.

It will include community meeting spaces, computers for public access, wifi and internet access, and

spaces for study and quiet reading.

Council’s Libraries Manager Camille Cullinan said the building was set to impress.

“We have worked hard to ensure that this building will cater for the needs of both the College students

and the wider community,” she said.

“The library designs followed extensive community consultation and we will continue to work in

partnership to determine the finer details regarding opening hours, staffing, event programming and

available library services.”

Robinvale College Principal Sara Broster said it was an exciting time for the College and the

Robinvale community as the construction phase commenced.

“It’s going to be a fantastic resource for our students as well as the wider community,” she said.
