Contemporary classrooms rollout underway

Roger Jaensch, Minister for Education, Children and Youth

The Rockliff Liberal Government is getting on with delivering our 2021 election commitment to upgrade school classrooms across the State, with the release of the construction tender to undertake works at Risdon Vale Primary School.

Minister for Education, Children and Youth, Roger Jaensch, said the works at Risdon Vale Primary School will deliver expanded learning areas in two classrooms, including a breakout area, and access to outdoor learning spaces.

“The project is part of the Government’s $10 million Contemporary Classrooms Program, which will see works undertaken at 12 schools across Tasmania,” Minister Jaensch said.

“As part of this program, construction works will also commence at Lilydale District School and Havenview Primary School during the school holidays.

“Both projects will deliver improvements to existing learning areas to provide more contemporary spaces for our students and staff.”

The 12 schools to receive classroom upgrades through the Contemporary Classrooms Program are:

  • South George Town Primary School;
  • East Derwent Primary School;
  • Dodges Ferry Primary School;
  • Mowbray Heights Primary School;

  • Ringarooma Primary School;
  • Port Dalrymple School;
