The Contracts Committee is constituted by these three Councillors who deal with all contractual matters above the CEO threshold of $25,000 to $1 million dollars with $1 million and above being considered by full Council.
The protocol for consideration of variation that is beyond 10 percent of the total contract price is such that the matter is considered by the Contracts Committee. The urgency relates to the necessity to provide a decision in relation to a project which has been put on hold due to a variation request which is beyond this 10 percent threshold.
