Cooloongup scrub fire

Strike Force Vulcan officers are reminding members of the community to report any suspicious people, vehicles, or activity in their area after a scrub fire in Cooloongup on Wednesday, 31 January 2024.

About 5.55pm, Department of Fire and Emergency Services were called to the scrub fire in a park on Gibb Road near the East Waikiki Primary School. The fire was quickly extinguished before it could spread.

Strike Force Vulcan officers wish to speak with several teenagers who were sighted in the vicinity of the fire, just prior to the fire starting, and it is believed they can assist officers with their investigation, and anyone with any information relating to these fires is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.crimestopperswa.com.au.

Rewards of up to $25,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
