Updates

New quarantine arrangements for returning international travellers

The government has today announced new quarantine arrangements for returning international travellers who are fully vaccinated.

More details can be found in this media release from the Premier.

Vaccines

There are currently more than 140,000 first and second dose bookings available in state vaccinations hubs for next week. This includes 51,000 second dose Pfizer appointments.

For the past week, Victoria has been administering more vaccine doses than any other state and we are on track to becoming one of the most highly vaccinated jurisdictions in the world.

As we move towards our 80 per cent double-dose target, the government is continuing its efforts to boost vaccination rates in Local Government Areas with lower coverage by hosting mini pop-up clinics to remove any remaining barriers to vaccine access.

As part of this push, 30 vaccination centres across Victoria will open to walk-up Pfizer appointments with no booking required and nine pop-up clinics will launch in partnership with youth mental health organisation, Headspace.

Details about these new clinics can be found at Greater access to vaccinations in Victoria’s final push.

This weekend there will be 16 school pop-up vaccination sites in the follow locations:

  • Victoria University Secondary College, Jamieson St, St Albans
  • Box Hill High School, Whitehorse Road, Box Hill
  • Reservoir High School, Plenty Road, Reservoir
  • Cranbourne West Secondary College, Strathlea Drive, Cranbourne West

Wastewater

COVID-19 viral fragments have been detected in wastewater samples taken from the following regional area:

  • Halls Gap – unexpected detection for the period 18 – 20 October.

The detection could be an undiscovered new case or cases or could be the result of one or more people in the area who have recovered from COVID-19 but are still shedding the virus.

Anyone who lives in, works in or has visited the area above is urged to watch for the mildest of COVID-19 symptoms and get tested as soon as possible if symptoms develop.
