Georges River Council is acknowledging Emergency Ready Week, which takes place on 14 – 20 September.
Council is delivering three events to help educate the community on preparing for disasters in our region. These initiatives provide practical information to help the community be aware and prepared. They are:
Emergencies can affect Georges River at any time. These include:
Heatwaves.
Utility outages.
Storms.
Bushfires.
Floods.
Public health events.
Council has also relaunched its Emergency Management webpage, which brings all the necessary information together for the community to access at any time.
Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, “The best way to stay safe in an emergency is to be informed and prepared.
“I encourage all members of our community to attend these programs and get emergency ready.”
