Council Provides more than $28,000 in Financial Assistance

The Rotary Club of Goulburn Inc., the Country Universities Centre Goulburn, Christmas in the Park, the Goulburn Chamber of Commerce Explore Local Business Expo, the 2023 Lilac City Festival, and the RSL Sub-Branch Goulburn are set to benefit from the $28,000, plus in kind support, granted in financial assistance at last night’s Council Meeting.

$3,000 in cash contributions will be provided to The Rotary Club of Goulburn Inc. for the 2023 Southern Tablelands Science and Engineering Challenge. Council will also fund 50% of the venue hire.

A cash contribution of $4,990 will go to the Country Universities Centre Goulburn to assist with the costs of their new teleconferencing facilities. The Country Universities Centre plays an important role in providing tertiary access for local students.

Council will provide a cash contribution of $5,750 towards Christmas in the Park 2023. Christmas in the Park is a significant event on the Goulburn Mulwaree Council calendar and is extremely popular within the community. The event includes family entertainment, food stalls and a visit from Santa.

A cash contribution of $5,000 will go towards the Goulburn Chamber of Commerce Explore Local Business Expo. The event will feature a variety of exhibitions, workshops, and networking opportunities.

$5,000 will go towards the running of the 2023 Lilac City Festival. This Festival is Australia’s longest continuously run community festival. It was established in 1951 and has occurred annually, every October long weekend ever since. Council will also provide traffic control for road closures required for the festival.

The RSL Sub-Branch Goulburn will be given $5,000 to cover the cost of hiring a public address system which includes all necessary equipment along with audio technicians to assist with operations at the Dawn Service and the 11am Service on ANZAC Day in 2024.
