The gym at the Diamond Valley Sports and Fitness Centre has reopened, with the gyms at the Diamond Creek Community Centre and Community Bank Stadium Diamond Creek to follow on Monday 6 July.

The reopening of these very popular facilities follows the easing of some Victorian Government restrictions.

The gym at the Diamond Valley Sports and Fitness Centre reopened for booked sessions from Wednesday 1 July, while group fitness and stadium sessions at all three premises will reopen on Monday 13 July.

The health and safety of visitors, staff and the wider community is Council’s priority.

Council has been working with new centre managers Aligned Leisure to implement hygiene and social distancing measures in line with Victorian Government guidelines.

Visitors will be limited to 20 people per area and 60-minute sessions must be pre-booked. Memberships will continue to be on hold.

The centres will be regularly cleaned throughout the day and overnight. Staff have undertaken mandatory COVID-19 safety training and contactless transactions have been introduced.

The Diamond Creek Outdoor Pool is closed for winter and will reopen as normal in November, subject to government restrictions. The Eltham Leisure Centre reopened on June 10.

As seen throughout this pandemic, the situation surrounding COVID-19 can change with little or no notice. Council and Aligned Leisure will continue to monitor the situation as it develops and respond accordingly.

We will keep the community informed of any developments and we thank you for your patience.
