Following a devastating fire that destroyed Urana’s only supermarket, the local community and community organisations continue to support one another.

Intereach has partnered with Federation Council to donate Food Bank boxes, that contain long life food items, as well as sanitary and household goods.

These goods will be made available for collection by local residents from the Urana Council Chamber on Tuesday, May 3 and Friday, May 5.

Federation Council Mayor, Pat Bourke said he continues to be in awe of the Urana and district community, and the way in which they continue to support one another and be supported.

“The amount of support shown to the Ciccia family and the people of Urana is truly overwhelming,” he said.

“The support is greatly appreciated as we all adapt to the sudden loss of our supermarket. The latest gesture from Intereach and Foodbank is another fine example of how brilliant the Federation community is in supporting one another in the face of adversity.”

Urana residents are invited to attend the Urana Council Chamber on the following days and times to collect donated goods:

  • Tuesday, May 3: from 1pm – 3pm.
  • Friday, May 6: from 11am – 2pm.

Council would like to take this opportunity to thank Intereach and Foodbank for their support.
