COVID-19 update – 20 March 2020

The Department of Health has reported 12 new cases of COVID-19 overnight, bringing the State’s total to 64. This includes a second case in Western Australia’s South West.

The new cases include 10 males and two females, aged between 27 and 61.

The Department is still undertaking thorough contact tracing but can confirm that all 12 cases are linked to overseas travel – Thailand, UK, Indonesia, USA, Canada and Europe.

Relevant flight details will be uploaded to the HealthyWA website as contact tracing is completed.

There have been 8539 negative COVID-19 tests in Western Australia to date — 1092 of these are from regional WA.

There are currently four COVID-19 patients in Perth hospitals – three are in a stable condition and one is in a critical but stable condition.
