The Northern Territory has recorded two new cases of COVID-19 overnight.
A man in his 30s who arrived on a repatriation flight from South Africa has tested positive for COVID-19. He is symptomatic and under the care of the Centre for National Resilience (CNR).
The other new COVID-19 case is related to the current NT outbreak, bringing the total number of cases to 53.
The new case in the outbreak is a man in his fifties who is a known household contact of an earlier case. He is symptomatic and has been in the CNR for his entire infectious period.
Extensive contact tracing remains underway, with 536 close contacts identified to date for cluster two. Of these, 530 close contacts have been contacted and are isolating and 510 have returned a negative test.
Wastewater testing for the Katherine Bicentennial Road catchment site has returned a presumptive (weak) positive result, indicating the signal strength is reducing. There have been no other unexpected positive wastewater testing results across the NT.
Lockdown / lockout details for Katherine
At midday today, 27 November, the Municipality of Katherine will transition from a lockdown to a lockout until midday on Tuesday 7 December.
Binjari remains in hard lockdown while Robinson River and Rockhole remain in lockout.
Only fully-vaccinated Territorians can access non-essential businesses and services during a lockout.
Fully-vaccinated people must provide proof of vaccination when accessing non-essential businesses and services. The easiest way to do this is by sharing the COVID-19 digital certificate with the Territory Check In app. You can also use a printed copy of your vaccination certificate or immunisation history statement as proof of your vaccination.
If you are unvaccinated, or have had only one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, you must continue to follow lockdown restrictions until 7 December. You must wear a mask in public, and are only permitted to leave your residence for the following five reasons:
Medical treatment, including COVID testing or vaccinationFor essential goods and services, like groceries and medicationsFor work that is considered essential and can’t be done at homeFor one hour of outdoor exercise a day within 5 km from your home with one other person or people from your houseTo provide care and support to a family member or person who cannot support themselves.

Travel out of the lockdown area
Greater Darwin or Alice Springs residents caught up in the Katherine lockout can apply to leave the area and return home. Approved residents must return a negative COVID-19 test prior to leaving the lockout area and must also be tested on Day 5 after leaving the lockout area. They will also be required to wear a mask in public until midday on 7 December 2021.
COVID-19 Testing
2,324 COVID-19 tests were processed across the NT yesterday. All were negative.

COVID-19 testing sites are also open in Greater Darwin, Alice Springs, Tennant Creek and Nhulunbuy. Testing is also available at NT Health clinics in remote communities.

COVID-19 Vaccination
The COVID-19 vaccination rate in the NT continues to increase with more than 95% of Territorians having had their first dose while 86% of people are fully vaccinated having had two doses.
The following remote communities have recently reached the milestone of a 70% first dose COVID-19 vaccination rate. This means the mask mandate and requirement for a Rapid Antigen Test before travelling to these areas no longer applies.
