Crews working on strong wind damage throughout Maroondah

Following the recent storm there are many trees and branches down throughout Maroondah.

Our crews are working quickly to clean up, in the first instance responding to property damage, blocked roads and clearing footpaths. The clean up of all our parks and reserves will take many days, so please be patient and stay safe.

Powerlines are also down throughout Maroondah. Do not approach or attempt to move them. Authorised power company crews will be clearing and fixing these as quickly as possible. For any power queries please contact your supplier.

Take care

When out and about, please take care, be aware of possible tree damage and keep clear of any crews working on fallen trees or powerlines.

Always treat fallen powerlines as live even when they are broken. Never go near them or anything they may be touching, such as vehicles, metal fences or pools of water. Call your electricity supply company (refer to the emergency and fault number on your bill) and the Police to report the location of any fallen lines.

Food safety

There have been power outages across the state, including hundreds of properties in Maroondah. Make sure you keep safe and don’t forget that power outages can impact the food in your fridge and freezers.
