Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) detectives are investigating a serious hit-run collision in Coburg tonight.
Emergency services were called to reports of a car colliding with a bicycle on Moreland Road about 6.20pm.
The rider of the bicycle, who is yet to be formally identified, was taken to hospital with life-threatening-injuries.
The car took off from the scene and the driver failed to render any assistance.
The vehicle remains outstanding.
The investigation remains ongoing.
