Cutting red tape, saving time and money

The Hon David Littleproud MP
Minister for Agriculture and Northern Australia

• The Australian Government’s agricultural Export Service will save agricultural exporters time, money, and reduce administrative burden.

• Export businesses can now trial a one-stop-shop.

The Australian Government is delivering reforms for agricultural exporters to make dealing with government easier. Export registered businesses can now trial a new system to manage their business profiles online.

Minister for Agriculture and Northern Australia David Littleproud said the new agricultural Export Service, part of the Government’s Busting Congestion for Agricultural Exporters program, will save businesses time by ditching paper and cutting processing times.

“We are moving towards a future where processes are paperless, compliance is simple, and information is readily available,” Minister Littleproud said.

“The trial is the first step to simplify tasks for our agricultural export businesses, so they spend more time getting their products to consumers around the world.”

“Business wants a government to be agile and be able to adapt at a pace and that is exactly what our Congestion Busting package is about.”

“I am excited that in the midst of a pandemic we are future proofing our export systems. If we are to reach a $100 billion industry by 2030 it is reforms like this that are going to get us there.”

Export businesses will now be able to make changes to their export registered establishments online, saving time when updating their business profile. This includes:

• being able to add and remove people in their business management

• requesting changes to their Approved Arrangement

• applying to export a new commodity, and

• applying to be listed for a new overseas market.
