Cyclist dies in hospital after Strathmore crash

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner after a cyclist died in hospital following a collision in Strathmore last month.

It is believed the man was riding south on Napier Street when he collided with a male cyclist crossing east on Napier Street , south of the Upland Road intersection, about 3.10pm on 17 September.

The man was thrown from his bike and was hospitalised with a life-threatening injury.

Sadly, the 78-year-old Essendon man died in hospital on 19 September.

The second cyclist was uninjured in the incident.

Investigators believe a third male cyclist was also accompanying the second cyclist.

Both cyclists left the scene prior to police arrival.
