Dangerous Driving And Going Armed Charge At Buxton

Police have charged a man following reports of dangerous driving on the Bruce Highway between Torbanlea and Buxton on 1 July.

It will be alleged that at approximately 11.20am, police received multiple reports a grey Land Rover Discovery was being driven dangerously northbound on the Bruce Highway.

Police will further allege the driver pointed what appeared to be a firearm at several members of the public from the vehicle, causing them to fear for their safety.

Officers located the vehicle a short time later at a service station at the Buxton intersection, where the driver was taken into custody.

A 38-year-old man has been charged with multiple offences including one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and going armed so as to cause fear.

He is due to appear before the Maryborough Magistrates Court on 22 July.
