Dangerous driving at Ormeau, QLD

Police have charged a 57-year-old man after he allegedly drove a four-wheel drive dangerously, crashing into vehicles and evading police at Ormeau this morning.

It will be alleged the Ford Territory was seen weaving through southbound traffic and reaching speeds of 165 km/hour on the Pacific Motorway around 10.45am.

Police received multiple reports of minor traffic crashes involving the vehicle.

When officers responded, the man allegedly failed to stop the vehicle before it was intercepted on the motorway at Coomera.

The man allegedly fled the vehicle before officers arrested the man on foot a short time later.

No one was injured during the incidents.

The 57-year-old Broadbeach Waters man has been charged with three counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle, two counts of evading police and one count each of obstruct police and fraud.

He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on January 21.

Investigations into the traffic crashes are continuing.
